MOCK CLIENT

Much of my in-the-field work with SNAP Outreach requires understanding and completion of in-house forms used for our

data collection.

For this mock client, she visited me at the Jonnycake Center of Westerly with an issue regarding her SNAP benefits. She had applied back in February 2020, and received benefits for both March and April, however her benefits dropped from the maximum for a one person household at $194/month to the minimum at $16/month. This dramatic loss in benefits prompted me to complete a thorough screener with her to confirm her appropriate benefit amount. After completing the screener, I determined she needed a supervisor follow-up so my supervisor can contact DHS directly to ask about her case and determine if an error was made. I then completed a client contact explaining this issue and had the client complete the release on the back so we are able to contact DHS about their case. The client should likely be receiving  the maximum benefit amount, which DHS will inform my supervisor. My supervisor will then contact the client directly and inform them when this change will go into place and answer any questions they may have.
